Youtube and Paypal both have South African heritage

Just after I wrote about Elon Musk and Paypal, I read on News24 that Pik Botha’s grandson, Roelof Botha is a Web 2.0 hotshot!

Roelof sits on the board of directors for Insider Pages as well as Luxim and is also a partner in the Silicon Valley venture capital firm Sequoia Capital. Sequoia invested in Youtube last year, and will probably see their $11.5 million turn into half a billion dollars!

Before joining Sequoia, he was chief financial officer at PayPal, which was founded by Elon Musk, another South African!

So the list of Successful Online South African’s continues. From now on, these folks will be known as SOSA.
