South Africa’s largest news site, News24.com, with over 1.4 million unique visitors per month, has this past weekend rolled out a new design, which has been in development for over 2 years.
The new site captures the essence of where we want to position the number one South African digital news brand presently and for the future – maintaining our focus on breaking news, but also being more of a destination for users to interact and engage with the stories of the day.

Along with the redesign, 2 new sections have been launched, namely Opinion and Multimedia. The user-generated section, MyNews24 has also received a facelift which shows just how important UGC has become in SA.
Semantic tagging has also been incorporated into all the News24 articles which will allow for the user to be presented a list of related stories.
The new News24 site has not only been redesigned, it also has been moved over to the new 24.com custom-built Content Management System.
