On Friday, Bandwidthblog broke the news that Afrigator – the African Social Media aggregator – was acquired by MIH Africa, which is part of the Naspers group.
The announcement was followed pretty quickly by follow up posts all over the web – Mike Stopforth, Afrigator Blog, Paul Jacobson and even ReadWriteWeb. This is fantastic news, not only for South Africa, but for Cape Town, as with a couple of other acquisitions in the past, Blueworld, Zoopy and now Afrigator, Cape Town is being dubbed Silicon Cape!
Congrats to the minds behind Afrigator – Mike, Stii, Justin and Mark. You guys have done a steller job with Afrigator so far, and with Stii and Justin moving down to Silicon Cape to head up Afrigator’s further development, Afrigator will only get stronger.
