24.com, have launched Answerit a site very much the same as Yahoo! Answers. One distinguising factor is that Answerit is specifically designed for the South African market.

The idea of Yahoo! Answers and Answerit is pretty simple. A user asks a question and other users answer those questions. You are able to vote for the best or most popular answer, which in turn gives you more points. Currently, Answerit are offering a R5000 prize to the person who tops the leaderboard by the end of May.
From the best way to braai a chicken to why there are only 7 colours in the rainbow, you can ask it.
A service like Answerit will only succeed if they have a large enough userbase to ask and answer questions. Currently, with prizes on offer, expect there to be a flurry of answers for your questions!
Answerit is a slight variation on a Search Engine. Instead of asking Google a question, and it returning results that might be correct, Answerit has the power of human intellect to source the answer for you. Whether or not humans these days are smarter than Google is something you will have to Answerit yourself!
