Pushplay is a DVD rental service much the same as Netflix in the US. Pushplay initially struggled signing up people to their service because they did not have enough drop boxes for customers to return the DVD’s. Now the company has formed a partnership with Vida e Caffe which means that now whenever you pop down to your local Vida e Caffe for your favourite coffee, you are able to drop off your rented DVD’s!
How It Works:

If you aren’t familiar with the concept its pretty simple. You buy a monthly package that allows you to rent anywhere from 1 to 6 DVDs at a time. Prices range from R89 to R239 (USD $12 to USD $35) per month. You login to the Pushplay website and select a range of movies that you would like to watch from their amazing collection of 60000 titles. Once you have setup a collection of DVDs, Pushplay dispatches the available DVDs to your home in a day or two. You can keep the DVDs as long as you need (this is why this service is so popular). When you are done with the DVDs, place it in a drop box and they will then deliver the next lot of DVDs in your collection that are available, thus giving you the ability to rent an unlimited number of DVDs per month!
Current Offerings
If you join Pushplay now they will give you a free two week trial to test their service. Your initial 3 months service is also discounted. If they aren’t giving enough already, if you can coax enough of your friends into joining Pushplay you get 6 months of service for free!
Happy DVD renting!
