After months (years) of waiting for a proper MXit for your PC client, MXit Lifestyle has released a Beta version of MXitPC.
This means, no more Mpowerplayer, no more Java Runtime, no more hacking MXit to get it to work on your PC!
Download the Beta Version of MXitPC from http://www.mxit.com/mxitpc/.
As this is a Beta, there are a couple of bugs that might irrate you, but at least you have an official version of MXit for your PC!
Here is the list of bugs:
- Emoticards cannot be sent to MXit PC
- Skins are not supported
- If you don’t send any messages for about 3 hours, your contacts will appear online but will not respond. To fix this, logout then log back in.
- You will need to un-install the beta before you can install any updates
- Windows Vista is not supported. (Although I can confirm that I am running Vista and MXitPC works!)
- When the chat window is opened, the text input box needs to be clicked on before you can type.
- Emoticons are not displayed in service menus
Here is a list of things you can expect soon from MXitPC:
- Sending / receiving encrypted messages (encryption of login details is supported)
- MultiMx
- Multiple language support
- Alert profiles
- Inline images
- Text markup
- Custom emoticons
- Voice recorder
- Vibes
- Sending SMSes
- Offline contacts cannot be hidden
- Messages that are saved in the gallery cannot be viewed

wtf is mxit’s problem now days!!??? everytime i try and get on i cant and when i do then it shows all my contacts are offline, even though they talking to me
i think mxit pc works much better than mpowerplayer. thank you. only thing is you cant see if your contacts left u msgs like on mpowerplayer. the button isnt clear enough and the background is way to dark!u need skinz for mxitpc and the option to have a pic next to each contact that left u a msg. Or just let me know if i stupid. Mine wont work tho, everyone complain i dont get their msgs.Thx

My question is this – I recently moved to the UK, but would still like to use mxit here to chat to my SA friends. HOWEVER, I have downloaded MXit for my PC and I cannot connect? Is there a way to connect with the Mxit PC Beta without having your phone’s mxit activated?? I would like to use Mxit exclusively on my pc…
I’m a bit lost in terms of how to set this all up, so will be gratefull to anyone that can give me a concise and clear instruction of how to do it.

you have to have a registered cell number and pin… without this there is no hope for you or mxit on your pc

I have checked the HTTP box..But after its failed attempt to login it say’s “We will no try to use HTTP” even though thats what it was using in the beginning!!

i have installed mxt pc,but when i log on my contacts appear and after a few seconds,it say “An error a has occured MXIT will now close.

PROXY for MXIT PC Client, Just configure ur Internet Explorer to the correct proxy and mxit picks it up automatically. I had to tick HTTP for this to work. Try it, it works.
