Some folk at work are blocked from using the internet, however they do have access to email. Moogle to the rescue!
Moogle permits quick information access to a variety of useful services via email all depending on keywords which you put into the subject line.
So from searching the web, to requesting the latest weather report for your city, you can easily send an email to Moogle with the instructions in the Subject line and have the results returned almost instantly.
What Moogle seems to be doing is scraping sites and returning it directly in an email. I tested the search, weather and exchange rate services, and the results are returned almost instantly.
I just noticed that all the links on the returned emails have mailto: links on them, so you can literally browse the web. Clicking on the links and hitting send, or enter something like http://www.digg.com in the Subject line and fire it off to search @ moogle.co.za will return Digg’s homepage to you via email. Pretty neat!
However I’m guessing if your internet is blocked at work, they probably tracking your email activity, not to mention the cameras in the toilets and the 2 teaspoons of coffee per day quota, so having tons of emails to and fro from moogle.co.za probably won’t go down well with your dungeon keeper boss.
