Being a Nokia cellphone user my entire cellphone life, I really have never seen another cellphone manufacturer that has made me even think about switching manufacturers.
Enter Samsung. 2 years ago they brought out the D500 which won best phone of the year in 2005. It was by far the best “slider” phone I’d ever seen. From there they created the D600, which built on the D500′s success. It didn’t stand out that much from the D500, but it was a worthwhile upgrade for those people who were having their contracts renewed. (BTW, it also won an award for phone of the year in 2005.)
Then in the later part of 2006 out came the D900, which is currently the slimmest slider phone on the market. It also boasts a 3 mega pixel camera, which is totally amazing for such a small phone. If I had to upgrade at the moment, I would definitely try and get my hands on this phone. This is the first phone that has made me want to switch from Nokia.
But wait, there’s more. Samsung are set to release the 10.9 Ultra Edition – which will surpass the D900 as the slimmest slider. It boasts a 3.2 mega pixel camera, MP3 player, 80mb of internal memory as well as a built-in Micro SD slot for adding more flash memory. The feature list isn’t much different from the D900, except for the dimensions – which will make it the slimmest slider phone.

There aren’t many details regarding the phone at the moment, as it is being launched at the 3GSM Congress in Barcelona next month.
So by the time I qualify for an upgrade, I’m sure the 10.9 will be available and I’ll definitely get me one of those!
